Two suspected traffickers were apprehended by the Ondo state police command,following the alleged selling of three siblings for 2.7m in delta state.
The victims were reportedly abducted by their neighbour at No 12 Ayeyemi street,Ile Oluji,Ondo state.
The suspects,Uchenna Ezewenka,Nkiru victoria and Augustine Anyanwu allegedly sold three siblings Stephen Jude(4years old)Monday Stephen(2 Years old)and Faith Stephen(10 years old) to three different buyers in Delta State.
However,upon interrogation,Nkiru confessed to have bought one of the children at N600,00 from Augustine,and sold it for N900,00 to one Mr Uchenna.She further confirmed that she asked them to verify the source,before s selling the kid to her,she even called her pastor,to confirm if it was a legitimate business.
The second suspect,confirmed that she bought the child because of her barreness,having been married for 20 years without a child.the 45 years old lady,confirmed the husband’s relatives were planing to send her away for not giving birth to a child,and that she never knew the child was stolen.
The mother of the children Mrs Stephen patience narrated how she left her four kids at home,to go to the farm,only to come back and discover three of them missing,and when she asked the eldest,she confirmed that there co tenant,took them to a night vigil around the neighbourhood.they failed to come back few days later and the case was reported to the police,before there were found four months later in different houses in Asaba.
