A Renewed crises Reportedly ensued between the Hausa-Fulani and Yandang Community in Lau-local government area of Taraba state.
According to reports,73 people have been killed and 50 villages burnt down.speaking with newsmen yesterday,the state chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association Of Nigeria(MACBAN).Mr Sahabi Mahmoud said that the crises which started on July 5,have reported 3,000 displaced Hausa -Fulanis,especially,women and children,who fled the area and has sought refuge at the muslim council secretariat in Jalingo,and other neighbouring villages.
However,an elder of Yangdang community,Mr Aaron Artimas,explained that currently,more than 50 people from the yangdang,and other tribes in the area where also confirmed dead following the crises.He further explained that the crises was believed to have erupted as a result of incitement from people in another area,who wanted to remain politicall relevant,because the Yangdang,Mumuye,Hausa-fulanis and Yoti have lived in peace and harmony over the long years.
Mr Artimas further explained that since the crises started on July 5,no government offical have visited the camp or given any relief materials to the people,and also no security.
David Misal,the Taraba police public relations officer,stated that the number of casualties are yet to be confirmed,but serenity have been restored in the affected villages.
