The Recent conflict at the Nigerian football federation,was reported to have led the League Management Company(LMC) to forcefully suspend the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL).
After the just concluded world cup,the Nigerian Football had been in turbulence,when the Sports Minister Solomon Dalung directed that Chris Giwa assumes the Leadership mantle at the NFF based on supreme court Judgment.
Fifa insisted on only recognising Amaju Pinnick as president.The LMC said in a statement:
“The decision is based on the current adverse circumstances in the admistration of football in the country,as a result of which sponsors,partners and service providers have expressed strong concerns and are reviewing their involvement in the league”.
“Furthermore,organizing matches of the NPFL under the current circumstances might cause irreversible damage to the League Brand”.
The Nigerian professional football league,which was due to commence on JULY 18,has been suspended indefinitely by the League Management Company(LMC).
