The Lagos state government has recently announced its decision to shut down 18 major roads in the city to inaugurate President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit on Saturday 9,Febuary for his reelection campaign rally.
According to reports,the campaign rally is scheduled to hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium,Surulere.
Speaking on this,Mr Demola Seriki,the chairman of the transport committee on Buhari’s campaign visit to the state stated that over 100,000 members of the All Progressive Congress (APC)are expected to attend the rally.
He further added that movement would be diverted on some major roads in the state like Shitta,inwards stadium will be closed to Traffic,and vehicles diverted to Adeniran Ogunsanya Street or Akerele Extension.Traffic from Barracks to stadium on Funsho Williams Avenue will be diverted to Stadium Bridge on the main carriage way of Alaka.
The 18 major Roads where traffic will be diverted from are as follows
1.Funsho Williams Avenue,Surulere.
8.Eric Moore Road
9.Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way
12.Agege Motor Road
16.Yaba/Muritala Mohammed Way Iddo/Otto
18.Old Toll Gate/Third Mainland Bridge/Obalende.
